Adama Allies in the Field tour helps Argentina’s farmers tackle crop problems

Hundreds of growers across Argentina have received expert help and advice on how to tackle their crop issues thanks to a series of national workshops by Adama.

The Adama Allies in the Field tour saw experts from Adama travel more than 12,000km to meet growers in 50 cities to talk to them about challenges they faced in the growing season.

Taking to the roads in a special Allies in the Field lorry, Adama technical teams talked to more than 700 farmers between August and November about issues ranging from ideas management in winter cereals to tackling resistance in weeds.

The events were part of the second Allies in the Field tour, following the successful first tour in 2014 which saw Adama meet more than 600 farmers in 40 cities.

This time the tour was coordinated by local Adama sales representatives and technical teams who put together presentations for each region and crop period. Local influencers were also invited to make presentations at some meetings to help make the events more relevant to local growers. Jorge Solis, CEO of Adama Argentina, said the tour was a hugely successful event which helped strengthen links between Adama and farmers in the region.

“The farmers we met were incredibly positive about the meetings and the information they received,” he said. “At Adama we really enjoyed this opportunity to work with farmers to help them find ways to tackle the challenges they face.”
