Crop protection specialists ADAMA Australia will be a gold sponsor of the Queensland Country Rugby Union Championships to be held at Bundaberg in June.
The championships involve open and under 19 teams from north, central and southern Queensland competing over three days for coveted state titles.
ADAMA has had a long association with the championships and jumped at the opportunity to again be involved and to support sport in the communities which support ADAMA, the company’s general manager of marketing Adam Phelan said.
“A large proportion of ADAMA Australia’s staff are based in regional and rural locations, and many of us who work out of our Sydney head office grew up in the bush and played local and regional sport,” Mr Phelan said.
“We know first-hand that sport brings communities together and we are very pleased to be able to support regional and rural communities through sponsorships of this kind.
“Bundaberg will no doubt do a great job hosting the championships this year and ADAMA wishes the organisers as well as the players the very best for the championships.”
Queensland based commercial manager Jake Sullivan said it was pleasing ADAMA could continue the business’ connection with the Queensland Country Rugby Championships.
“We are very excited to be part of this event and I am sure it will go a long way to securing future participation in rugby in Bundaberg and surrounds,” Mr Sullivan said.
“I have personally played for the Isis Crushers and West Barbarians and it is great to see such an event being held at Bundy.”
The championships present the opportunity for country based players to represent their region and vie for Queensland Country Heelers selection.
