For Immediate Release.
Nominations are now open for ADAMA Canada’s third annual #ThankARetailer Contest. Starting today, ag retails across Canada are competing to bring home a portion of over $60,000 in funding for their communities.
ADAMA’s annual #ThankARetailer community contest pays homage to ag retailers that support Canada’s rural communities. Each year, four outstanding ag retails are selected to receive grand prizes of $15,000, which they can spend on a community initiative of their choice.
“Ag retailers are the backbone of countless rural communities across Canada,” said Andrew Mann, CEO of ADAMA Canada. “Thank A Retailer is our way of giving retailers the recognition they deserve by contributing to worthwhile causes in their regions.’”
Retailer nominations are open now through January 8, 2019, and can be completed online at thankaretailer.ca. The form is simple, asking for a photo of the ag retailer and a series of short-answer questions about why they deserve to win. From start to finish, it should take about 10-15 minutes to complete — a small time commitment for a chance at a $15,000 grand prize.
Last year’s grand prize winner was MK Agro of Brunkild, MB. The MK Agro team supported the Kelly Kabernick Girls High School Hockey Memorial Scholarship, a fund set up to honour Kelly Kabernick, a local farmer and father of five who tragically passed away in October 2017. In addition to the $30,000 MK Agro received for winning Thank A Retailer 2018, the company donated $20,000 for a total of $50,000. Their support is helping keep Kelly’s memory alive in the community he loved.
“Thank A Retailer has helped Canadian ag retailers do a lot of good in their communities,” said Jodi Starodub, Demand Creation Manager at ADAMA Canada. “We are excited to see what outstanding retailers will be recognized in 2019 and wish good luck to all participants.”
As ADAMA launches its third run of the #ThankARetailer contest, the team looks forward to doing more for Canadian ag retails and the communities they support.
