Spirit River, AB Canada — Deanna Chabot says the glory of ag is that it never stays the same: “There are always new technologies and practices coming into place.” But her passion for the industry has always been rooted in relationships. And she’s looking forward to growing many more as ADAMA Canada’s new Area Business Manager in Northern Alberta,
Chabot, who was born and raised in the Peace River Region of Alberta, most recently worked as a marketing manager for an established ag retailer, overlooking nearly a dozen locations. In her experience, “The key is to listen.”
“When I first started out in Ag, I enjoyed connecting with people the most,” says Chabot. “The communication and relationship-building really drew me in.”
Chabot’s 17-year career has been focused in ag retail, and over the last five years, she’s acted as a sales coach for her team. Her most important lesson: You need to understand what operations really need — today and in the future. “It’s important to think about long-term needs. Whenever someone is just focused on farming for a program, they miss out on big opportunities,” says Chabot.
Chabot says that giving growers and retailers more freedom of choice, without the restraints of grower programs, is the kind of approach that drew her to ADAMA; she’s always preferred a simpler way of doing business.
“I like that personal approach, where business is done with a
handshake,” Chabot says. “I’m looking forward to building those
relationships with retails and distributors.”
Western Business Manager, Buck Peters is very excited to have Deanna on his team.
“She has deep roots in the region and a wealth of experience that are sure to be an asset,” says Peters.
In her personal life, Chabot keeps busy by coaching volleyball and supporting her daughter’s many hobbies, including karate, soccer and volleyball.
Please join us in welcoming Deanna to our team!
