General Info

Merpan 500 WP is a protectant fungicide for the control of many diseases on apples, beans, coffee, grapes, berries, pineapples and ornamentals. It is an organic protective fungicide of broad-spectrum activity.

 

Merpan 500 WP can be used as a foliar spray, as soil treatment and seed treatment of certain seed rots, damping-off diseases, as post-harvest dip treatment for fruit.

 

Merpan 500 WP is not phytotoxic to the recommended crops if used according to the label instructions.

 

Application Advice

Mixing

Mix the required amount of Merpan 500 WP with a little water and then add this mixture to the bulk of required volume of water in the spray tank and agitate thoroughly.

Directions for Use

Apply by means of any suitable high or low volume sprayer as recommended in the table. For low volume applications use at least 200 liters of water per Ha. For high volume application use 2000 liters of water per Ha or spray to run-off. Rates of application vary according to the disease and prevailing conditions, but the figure 120 GA.I./100 l water may serve as an indication.

Pre-planting soil treatment

For control of damping-off and root rots for beans, peas, cabbages etc., apply Merpan 500 WP as a broadcast treatment working into top 10 cm of soil.

Post-harvest dip treatment for fruits against storage rots

Dip fruits for 1-2 minutes in 1 % Merpan 500 WP suspension before storage.

Dip-treatment for cuttings

Dip cuttings in 1 % Merpan 500 WP suspension for 1-2 minutes. Drain and plant.

Merpan 500 WP is a protective fungicide, so the first application should be made just before the disease is expected to appear, with repeat applications at the recommended intervals for as long as protection is required.

Compatibility

Merpan 500 WP may be combined with most commonly used insecticides, fungicides and adjuvants with the exception of strongly alkaline materials. It should not be used in combination with or closely following oil sprays.

Apply as a broadcast treatment working unto top 7.5-10.0 cm of soil prior to sowing or apply 1.5-2.0 Kg/ Ha into row when planting.

Carrots

Cercospora blight, septoria leaf spot

Apply at first sign of disease and repeat at 6-10 days in interval.

Safety

Pre-harvest interval for carrots: 6 days.

Harmful to fish. Do not contaminate ponds, waterways or ditches with chemicals or used container.
