Application Advice

Directions for Use

Rain or irrigation is essential for activation of the residual effect of Galigan 240 EC. Pre-emergence control is most effective when Galigan 240 EC is applied to weed-free established soil surfaces. After weeds or soil surfaces are sprayed, they should not be disked or cultivated in any manner. In post-emergence sprays, Galigan 240 EC is most effective against annual broadleaf weeds when they are less than 10 cm high and at the 1-2 leaf stage of susceptible annual grass weeds.

Apply Galigan 240 EC to a clean soil surface free from any organic material or crop residues which will adversely affect the weed control.

Application Rates and Timing

In sugarcane use 3 Lt/Ha in 200-500 Lt water per hectare after planting or ratooning.

For onions use 1 Lt/Ha in 200-500 Lt of water after 4-5 onion leaves, about 2-3 weeks after transplanting.

Compatibility

Galigan 240 EC can be tank mixed with Glyphosate 1 month before seeding, as field preparation.

Preparation of Spray Mixture

Fill the tank to half its capacity. In a separate container add a small amount of water to the required quantity of Galigan 240 EC and mix well until a uniform mixture is obtained. Agitate and filter mixture into the tank, while adding water to the required amount. Ensure good mixing before starting to spray. Mix each spray batch freshly. Ensure uniformity while spraying. Fan-type nozzles are preferred.

Apply Galigan 240 EC with a tractor mounted spray boom or knapsack sprayer with flat fan nozzles calibrated to spray the recommended spray volume at a pressure of 100-200 kPa.

Safety

Re-entry period: It is possible to enter the treated area once the spray has dried up.

Galigan 240 EC is toxic to fish and estuarine/marine fish, aquatic invertebrates and wildlife. Do not apply directly to water when disposing or to areas of runoff or contaminate water when disposing of equipment.
