Ignacio, a leading crop protection industry expert, has been with ADAMA for 20 years, and part of its Management and Executive Committee for more than a decade. He has been instrumental in crafting and implementing the Company’s global commercial and offering strategy. Prior to his position as CEO, Ignacio was the Executive CCO in charge of the company’s commercial activity in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and of the IDR (Innovation, R&D and Registration) Division.
He started his career in the Agchem industry in a marketing role in ICI / Zeneca, an agrochemicals business that was later combined with Novartis to form Syngenta. Early in the 90’s, Ignacio joined American Cyanamid where he held several leadership roles, including part of the company’s international division. In January 2001, he caught the attention of ADAMA’s executives and was asked to join the team as the leader of the company’s operations in Spain.
Ignacio holds an M.Sc. in Physics, specializing in automatic calculus, artificial intelligence structure of microprocessors and programming languages, from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
On a more personal note: Ignacio enjoys classical music, reading, art and all things Real Madrid.
