“There is something unique about working in Operations. In the plants we are a very close-knit team. We have to be – especially with so much relying on ensuring the highest standards of safety. We put safety first and can’t afford anything less than uncompromising collaboration, which also impacts how we ensure the quality of our products and protect the environment. These are broadly consequential goals, which serve as great motivators for being successful at what we do.”
Zvi joined ADAMA in 1980 as a project engineer at Makhteshim, and in 1989 he joined ADAMA Agan as Maintenance Manager, having played a leading role in the rapid development of the ADAMA Agan plant. In 1999 he was appointed to be the Head of Operations and then in 2012, General Manager of ADAMA Agan.
In 2015, Zvi relocated to China to establish ADAMA’s production operations in the country. In 2019, he returned from China to head up ADAMA’s Israel operations.
Throughout his career, Zvi has always believed that being close to the frontline is a cornerstone of Operations success. Every morning he visits the plant floor to engage with the team.
Among the key concepts that drive his leadership is an insight that was provided to him early in his career by his first manager, who told him that effective performance is not grounded in the ability to find the source of a problem, rather it rests in the ability to bring solutions.
Zvi holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA, both from Ben-Gurion University.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, listening to classical music, and reading poetry, especial the works of noble laureate Wisława Szymborsk.
