Leading the Way in Sustainable Grass Management with AGIL 100 EC.

Rooted in Results: Driving grass-free fields with AGIL® 100 EC.
Our field agronomists

In a recent field day event in Ghana’s Greater Accra region, our team came together with local farmers to share valuable knowledge and insights on how to achieve healthier, grass-free fields. This field-interactive event, led by our Marketing & Product Development Manager for West Africa—Mr. Joshua Banana Awutey and Regional Agronomist & Sales Representative—Mrs. Mildred Quaye Agawu, focused on one key topic: Reliable grass control in vegetables, legumes and pineapple with our innovative graminicide, AGIL® 100 EC.

The Power of Timing and Dosage in Grass Control

At the heart of the discussion was the importance of proper and timely herbicide application. AGIL® 100 EC has proven to be an effective solution for grass control in crops, but the timing of its application and the correct dosage are essential for achieving optimal results. Unfortunately, many farmers miss the ideal application window or use incorrect rates, leading to suboptimal results and potential setbacks in their crops’ growth. We oriented and guided farmers through the best practices for using AGIL® 100 EC, explaining the critical factors that contribute to success:

  • Timely Application: Grass growth can often be unpredictable, making it vital for farmers to monitor their fields and apply AGIL® 100 EC at the right time, thus up to a maximum of 4 leaf stage of the target grasses. Early detection and treatment of grass problems can prevent them from becoming more difficult to manage later
  • Correct Dosage: Using the right amount of herbicide is key to ensuring the product works as intended. Too little, and the grass may not be adequately controlled; too much, and it could harm the crops. The underdose and overdose of products overtime, could create resistance challenges for farmers. Our team demonstrated the proper dosage methods to ensure maximum efficacy— mixture of 70ml of AGIL® 100 EC in 15L clean water/Knapsack eliminates young and active growing grasses in legume, vegetables, pineapple, watermelon, root & tuber crops.

Engaging with Local Growers

We were thrilled to have local farmers participate in this insightful session. The event provided an excellent opportunity for growers to ask questions, observe demonstrations, and learn firsthand from our technical team. These face-to-face interactions helped solidify our commitment to supporting farmers in the Greater Accra Region and beyond. Our team also took keen interest in listening to other challenges farmers face in the farming practices, including issues with pest management, unfavourable weather patterns and reliable market access for their produce. We believe that fostering these connections and sharing knowledge will lead to more sustainable farming practices and better results for our local farmers in the long run.

Looking Ahead: Empowering Farmers for Success

We are grateful to all the farmers for the valuable time shared. The enthusiasm and engagement showed a shared commitment to improving their farming practices and achieving healthy, productive fields. Our mission is to continue supporting our farmers with the right tools, expert knowledge, and value-packed products that makes real difference. Through initiatives like this, we hope to make a lasting impact on farming practices in the Region, ensuring that more farmers achieve grass-free fields and quality seasonal yield. We look forward to future field days and collaborations, working together to create sustainable agronomic support for the success of our esteem farmers.
