Join us on a journey through Adama.
You’ll be able to learn about our heritage, purpose, values, promise and principles, and how they form the basis of our strategy moving forward and our commitment to putting farmers first.
A Simple Global Brand
A Heritage of Farming
At our modest start nearly seven decades ago, we helped farmers turn the desert green in a sustainable way.
Two sister companies, Makhteshim and Agan, embarked on a journey to turn a knowledge of chemistry and agrochemistry into solutions that could help feed the growing population of Israel, in spite of a shortage of natural resources.
Our local success evolved into a vision to provide high quality, uncompromisingly effective crop protection products to farmers the world over.
With each decade, we extended our capabilities and grew into a global company.

Meet Adama's new CEO
Chen Lichtenstein came full circle after decades of study and work on multiple continents, by returning to Israel and joining Adama in 2006. He held various executive roles in the company until he was appointed CEO in 2014.
“2014 will be an important year for our organization as we roll out our new global brand, and increase the integration of our business with ChemChina. I look forward to working closely with Adama’s excellent management team and professional and determined employees building on our strong foundation to make the most of the exciting opportunities we have.”
Adama and the Environment
Air, water and the ground in which we plant are all important factors in the health of global humanity, as well as the crops farmers grow.
We continually invest in reducing our ecological footprint anywhere we can. We measure our environmental impact – use of natural resources, energy consumption and emissions of air pollutants -- in an effort to track and reduce them.
