White mold options from ADAMA
Starting the list is TOPNOTCH™, a combination of propiconazole and azoxystrobin. Azoxystrobin is known to have activity on white mold, but is very rate dependent, which does elevate TOPNOTCH™ over other such combination products (TOPNOTCH™ has close to 2X the azoxy as Quilt®). The high rate of azoxystrobin also gives it a ‘plant health’ push, and this product is a strong option for those looking for a ‘cheap and cheerful’ way to give their crop a boost.
MAXENTIS® combines prothioconazole and azoxystrobin, both chemicals with activity on white mold. This combination is unique in the market, and MAXENTIS® is ideally suited for situations with known mold pressure. Utilizing a unique formulation, with Asorbital® technology, MAXENTIS® is able to get into the plant quicker, move further, and has reduced environmental degradation; all of which help bring top tier white mold protection.
VANTANA™ is a fluazinam based product, comparable to Allegro. Essentially the ‘gold standard’ for white mold in dry beans, this same powerful active is now being used in soybeans as the price of VANTANA™ makes this a more feasible practice. A wide range of labeled rates, VANTANA™ at lower to mid rates fits well into a two pass program, while being comparably priced to the more traditional products. Can also be mixed with something like TOPNOTCH™ to broaden the range of protection, and bring about some of the ‘plant health’ associated with a strobi based fungicide.
