ADAMAIZE: Built Around the Weed Control Realities of European Maize Growers
Across Europe, maize growers are facing increasingly complex weed control challenges. Evolving regulations are reducing the number of available weed control solutions, while growers continue to face varying weed pressures depending on field conditions, weed spectrum, and seasonal conditions. At the same time, unpredictable weather conditions add further complexity to crop management. Together, these challenges are reshaping the weed management landscape and increasing the need for reliable solutions that fit specific field conditions, operational requirements, and agronomic goals.
Through its close work with growers, advisors, local teams, and technical experts across Europe, ADAMA identified a clear need for a broader and more adaptable approach to weed management and set out to address it.
Developed over eight years, ADAMAIZE is a portfolio of maize herbicide solutions designed to support a wide range of weed control situations, application timings, and field requirements. By bringing multiple solutions together under one portfolio, ADAMAIZE enables growers to select the products that best fit their farming practices, weed spectrum, and agronomic objectives.
"ADAMAIZE reflects a shift from thinking about individual products to thinking about how growers manage weeds throughout the season. Our goal was to build a portfolio that provides options, allowing growers to select the approach that best fits their individual circumstances," said Juan Escribano, Global Product Manager at ADAMA.
As part of the ADAMAIZE portfolio, ADAMA is introducing Telavex® and Antareon®, two complementary herbicide solutions designed to support different weed management strategies throughout the maize season. Together, they expand the options available to growers, helping them select the most appropriate solution according to local weed pressures, application timing, and field requirements.
Over the coming years, additional ADAMAIZE solutions are expected to be introduced across European markets, further expanding the portfolio and providing growers with more tools to meet evolving weed management needs.
Isondalis® Technology: Supporting application flexibility
A key component of selected ADAMAIZE solutions is Isondalis®, one of ADAMA's proprietary formulation platforms. It plays an important role in how products behave during application and how consistently they perform under varying field conditions.
For growers, this can translate into practical operational benefits. Isondalis® supports application flexibility across a wider treatment window, from pre-emergence to early post-emergence timing. It is also designed to help maintain application quality through a stable formulation and consistent spray characteristics.
"When growers evaluate a herbicide, active ingredients are only part of the equation. The formulation itself can have a significant impact on the application experience and overall consistency in the field," said Juan Escribano.
Developed through European experience
Supporting maize production across Europe requires an understanding of diverse growing environments, weed challenges, and farming practices. ADAMAIZE draws on expertise from ADAMA's technical teams and local markets across the region, combined with ADAMA's capabilities in herbicides, formulation innovation, research, and regulatory development.
The challenges facing European maize growers continue to evolve, shaped by changing regulations, shifting weed pressures, and increasingly unpredictable growing conditions. Through ADAMAIZE, ADAMA is building a portfolio designed to evolve alongside those realities, giving growers access to a broader range of solutions as their needs continue to change.
