ADAMA to Launch Actagon® Herbicide for Wheat Growers in India

ADAMA Ltd. (SZSE 000553), a leading global crop protection company, today announced the launch of Actagon^®, a pre-emergent herbicide for wheat growers in India. Designed to help simplify weed management, Actagon^® offers a ready-mix liquid formulation that eliminates the need for on-farm tank mixing and can help reduce the number of herbicide applications required during the season. By streamlining field operations and supporting ease of use, it provides growers with a convenient option for managing challenging weed populations.

Actagon^® combines pyroxasulfone and metribuzin in a single formulation for pre-emergence application in wheat. This dual-mode combination is designed to deliver long-lasting control of Phalaris minor and other important grass and broadleaf weeds, while supporting effective resistance management. 

The launch will focus on India’s key wheat-growing states, particularly Punjab and Haryana, where Phalaris minor pressure is high and farmers are seeking reliable weed-control solutions.

Field trails conducted across major wheat-growing regions in India showed strong residual weed control under high pressure from Phalaris minor. The trials also indicated improved crop performance following a single pre-emergence application. 

Actagon^® is registered in India, with launch expected in September 2026.
