Driving Sustainability Forward: Key Takeaways from ADAMA’s 2024 ESG Report

ADAMA Ltd., a leading global crop protection company, published its 2024 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report. The report details the company’s commitment to transparency and incorporating several key standards from the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). 

In the 2024 ESG report committed to the following 2030 targets:

  • Reduce Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by 20% from 2024 baseline
  • Decrease water consumption by 5% from 2024 baseline
  • Achieve 75% reuse and recycling of hazardous waste

2024 ESG highlights:

  • We achieved a 5% reduction in production-based Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions intensity, alongside a 1% reduction in total Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions.
  • Water consumption decreased by 7%, and wastewater discharge was reduced by 2% compared to the previous year.
  • Recycling and reuse of hazardous waste increased to 70%, up from 66% in 2023.
  • ADAMA is dedicated to incorporating biodegradable and renewable materials into its formulations to promote sustainability, improve agronomic efficiency, and ensure safe handling. Over 50% of the co-formulants used in the company’s recent launches of oil-based products are already biodegradable
  • Proactively invested in our people’s safety through more safety tours and Safety GEMBA walks, safety workshops including to top management and on-site activities to enhance safety awareness. 33 employees across the organization were certified as Process Safety Risk Assessment Leaders.
  • ADAMA is committed to fostering growth opportunities for its people. ADAMA's internal mobility policy encourages and enables individuals to pursue a long-term career within the organization. 36% of all open positions were filled internally in 2024.
