Application Information and Resources

Application timing for Zulu XT

Zulu XT is applied to actively growing weeds in fallow prior to planting annual crops or after crop emergence. For best results, it is recommended to apply Zulu XT when the broadleaf weeds are small at the seedling or small rosette stage.

Withholding periods for the herbicide Zulu XT

Pasture, cereal crops, agricultural non-crop areas, commercial and industrial areas, and rights-of-way: Do not graze or cut for stock food for 7 days after application

Fallow control of lucerne: Do not graze, cut or cultivate for at least 21 days after spraying

Harvest withholding period: Not required when used as directed

How do I avoid spray drift when applying Zulu XT?

Drift mitigation is an important aspect of herbicide application, as herbicide drift can cause damage to non-target plants, animals, and the environment. Here are some tips to help minimize herbicide drift when applying Zulu XT:

  1. Check satacrop.com.au and talk to your neighbours about sensitive crops growing in your area
  2. Is there a hazardous inversion? If so, STOP. Know the signs and check the WAND weather app if available in your area.
  3. Use low-drift nozzles: Select spray nozzles that produce very coarse or larger droplets and minimize the creation of fine droplets that can easily drift away. Nozzles that are designed for drift reduction, such as air-induction nozzles can be effective in reducing drift.
  4. Use drift-reducing additives: Some adjuvants can help reduce drift by increasing droplet size and improving spray deposition on the target area. Avoid using adjuvants that decrease droplet size and increase drift risk
  5. Follow the buffer zones on the label: Maintain a buffer zone between the spray area and sensitive areas such as water bodies, and residential areas.
  6. Keep the boom low and travel slow
  7. Check for drift regularly: Monitor the wind speed and direction frequently during application, STOP if something is not right.
