Picoflex® 430
A selective herbicide for the control of broadleaf weeds in winter cereals, fallow, sugarcane and non-crop situations.
INTRODUCTION:
Picoflex 430 is a high-load solo picloram formulation providing greater flexibility with use rates and tank-mix partners to target challenging broadleaf weeds in winter cereals and other registered use situations, whilst also providing desirable residual control.
As a solo picloram formulation, Picoflex 430 offers growers the ability to fully customise tank-mixes with rate selection and tank-mix partners, based on the weed spectrum present. Picoflex 430 is a key herbicide partner in tank-mixes targeting challenging broadleaf weeds in winter cereals such as sowthistle, climbing buckwheat and fleabane. It also remains active in the soil providing desirable residual control. Picoflex 430 offers a unique use pattern with LVE MCPA 570. The high-load formulation results in reduced handling, transport and storage.
From a resistance management perspective, Picoflex 430 contains picloram, a pyridine (Group 4) herbicide. Picoflex 430 provides robust post-emergent broadleaf weed control in combination with tank-mix partners. It is a systemic herbicide that is absorbed through the plant’s leaves, stems and roots, and stays active in the soil providing desirable residual control of target weeds such as sowthistle and fleabane, extending through the winter cereal crop post-application and into the subsequent fallow.
KEY BENEFITS:
✔ Ability to fully customise tank-mixes with rate selection and tank-mix partners, based on the weed spectrum present
✔ Unique use pattern with LVE MCPA 570 in winter cereals
✔ Knockdown activity against numerous broadleaf weeds, including Climbing buckwheat, Fleabane, Sowthistle, Spiny Emex, Turnip weed
✔ Residual control of challenging weeds, including Sowthistle and Fleabane in Winter cereals, extending into the fallow
✔ Compatible with a broad range of ADAMA herbicides and other crop protection products for one-pass control
✔ Tank-mix with Safari® 750 EC or Amine 625 for robust control of an extensive range of noxious or woody weeds in agricultural non-crop areas, commercial and industrial areas, forests, grass pastures and rights of way
✔ High-load formulation (430 g/L picloram) reduces handling, transport and storage
APPLICATION & PROGRAM FIT:
In winter cereals, Picoflex 430 can be applied post-emergent from early tillering (when the main shoot has 4-5 leaves and 2 or more new tillers have formed - GS22) to start of jointing / first node (GS30). From a resistance management perspective, Picoflex 430 contains picloram, a pyridine (Group 4) herbicide. It is commonly tank-mixed with LVE MCPA 570, in addition to Marathon®, Priority® or Grindstone® to broaden the weed spectrum and for resistance management. It is compatible with a broad range of ADAMA herbicides and other crop protection products, enabling one-pass control. Refer to the Picoflex 430 Physical Compatibility Guide for further details.
FAQs
What is Picoflex 430 used for?
Post-emergent broadleaf weed control in winter cereals (including wheat, barley, oats and triticale), fallow, grass pasture, sorghum, maize, sugarcane, forests, agricultural non-crop areas, commercial and industrial areas and rights of way.
What weeds does Picoflex 430 target?
Climbing buckwheat, Common Sowthistle, Doublegee (Spiny Emex), Mustard, Saffron Thistle, Skeleton Weed, Turnip Weed, Variegated Thistle, Wild Radish, Wild Turnip, Fleabane, New Zealand Spinach, Wireweed.
Why should I use Picoflex 430 in a tank-mix instead of using co-formulations containing picloram and MCPA?
Picoflex 430 offers growers the ability to fully customise tank-mixes with rate selection and tank-mix partners, based on the weed spectrum present. Individual actives can be tweaked based on the weed species at hand, rather than being locked-in to fixed-ratios of actives delivered in co-formulations.
What cereal growth stages can Picoflex 430 be applied?
Picoflex 430 can be applied post-emergent from early tillering (when the main shoot has 4-5 leaves and 2 or more new tillers have formed) to start of jointing / first node (GS30).
Does Picoflex 430 provide knockdown and residual activity?
Yes- it provides effective knockdown of challenging broadleaf weeds when used in combination with ADAMA tank-mix partner herbicides and stays active in the soil, providing desirable residual control of target weeds such as sowthistle and fleabane extending through the winter cereal crop post-application and into the subsequent fallow.
What can I tank-mix with Picoflex 430?
Picoflex 430 is compatible with a broad range of ADAMA herbicides and other crop protection products, enabling one-pass control. Refer to the Picoflex 430 Physical Compatibility Guide for further details.
Can I use Picoflex 430 with LVE MCPA 570?
Yes- Picoflex 430 offers a unique registered use pattern with LVE MCPA 570 in winter cereals.
How can Picoflex 430 be applied?
Application by ground in a minimum 50L water/ha (sugarcane minimum 200L water/ha) or Aerial application in a minimum 20L water/ha (sugarcane minimum 50L water/ha).
What is the appropriate droplet spectrum for ground application?
Not smaller than COARSE to VERY COARSE droplet spectrum.
