Regional Trial Site Visits: See Results Under Local Conditions

Every summer, we’re in a field near you, researching and developing crop protection solutions at our trial sites to deliver innovative products wherever you farm.
ADAMA Trial Sites

This summer, we welcomed growers and retailers across Canada to our trial sites, where we’re showcasing our Value Innovation approach to our product pipeline by developing solutions for the immediate and emerging challenges growers are facing in the field.

In July, our team in Manitoba toured our Portage la Prairie site, guided by our Development Manager, Rob Bahry and two of our Technical Sales Agronomists, Melissa Ostash and Marci LeBlanc.

CAZADO™

One standout Melissa and Marci were excited to share with the team was CAZADO, the only solution that provides dual mode of action control of Wild Oats in wheat.

The treated plot at Portage la Prairie was visually cleaner than the untreated plot, effectively controlling Volunteer Canola, Redroot Pigweed and Wild Oats.

This is thanks to CAZADO™’s full rates of Pinoxaden (Group 1) and Thiencarbazone (Group 2) and its tank-mix flexibility. At our Portage la Prairie site, we treated spring wheat with CAZADO™ plus FORCEFIGHTER ALL IN® to add broadleaf weed killing power to the mix.

CAZADO™ can also be found in fields across Western Canada and we’ve heard excellent feedback from growers in treating grassy weeds and resistant Wild Oats.

MAXENTIS®

Our innovative MAXENTIS® fungicide was another standout at the Portage la Prairie site, with treated checks being noticeable healthier than untreated ones. While the drier conditions the plots experienced during the first half of the summer helped keep fungal diseases in check there was noticeable differences between the levels of infection of Blackleg in canola and White Mould in the peas.

This is thanks to a unique combination Prothioconazole and Azoxystrobin powered by our groundbreaking Asorbital™ Formulation Technology for better absorption and controlled migration. The result is broad-spectrum disease control with protective and curative action.

ADAMA’s Crop Protection Trial Network

Our robust trial site network across the country is Value Innovation in action. It helps us transform grower feedback and field realities into powerful new crop protection solutions that are tested under field conditions.

Talking with growers is always incredibly productive and informative, and we’re so grateful to everyone who came out this summer to see what exciting things we have to share.

It was with your help that we identified the challenges you face so we could develop innovative products like CAZADO™, MAXENTIS® and more.

Our Portage la Prairie site is just one part of an extensive network of trial sites:

  • 12 Knowledge Sites – Demonstration plots showcasing new and soon-to-be-released products.
  • 200 Field Trial Plots – Found at approximately 35 locations across Canada (serviced and evaluated by third-party researchers for unbiased results).
  • 50 Experiential Sites – Farmer-applied, large-scale trials of pipeline products to be registered in 2026.

This network helps us tailor innovative solutions to real-world needs while making it easier for growers and retailers to see how products are performing in their own region.

We hope to see you again next year!
