ADAMA US launches Maxentis™ SC Fungicide

ADAMA US launches Maxentis SC Fungicide to help Corn, Soybean and Wheat growers maintain plant health and protect their yields.

ADAMA US has introduced Maxentis SC, a revolutionary fungicide that combines two active ingredients to provide corn, soybean and wheat growers with a long-lasting solution for controlling the most damaging crop diseases including tar spot, frogeye leaf spot and other foliar diseases leading to better plant health. Maxentis SC is a combination of the field-proven active ingredients prothioconazole and azoxystrobin in one, easy-to-use mixture.

Disease challenges are increasing in corn with tarspot being a high level of concern as it continues to spread every year in addition to the ever-present northern corn leaf blight. While white mold remains a challenge in northern states for soybeans, growers are also seeing frogeye leaf spot spreading north from its hold in the south. “Disease pressure is present every year with different pathogens,” says Inbar Greenspoon, ADAMA US Product Development Lead. “Growers need a broad-spectrum fungicide like Maxentis SC to combat the ever-changing disease landscape. And a good, healthy plant can fend off other pressures better than a weaker one.”

Approximately 120 trials were completed across multiple crops. These trials showed Maxentis SC performed either as consistently or better than the competitive standards. The dual-mode protection technology in Maxentis SC also produces higher yields across corn (8% increase), soybeans (2% increase) and wheat (20% increase) and offers resistance management with its multiple modes of action.

“With this industry-leading disease protection in hand, US growers have access to a fungicide that enables them to spray more efficiently across multiple crops, and across multiple stages of plant growth and disease development,” said Diane Reynolds, Product Strategy Lead for ADAMA US. “Even better for our distribution and retail customers is that no ADAMA product is tied to a rebate program, so they have the freedom to choose fungicides that meet their growers needs.”
