ADAMA Gets Moving for Mental Health

In early April, 41 members of Team ADAMA laced up their shoes to walk in the Journey 5km by Winfield United Canada in support of The Do More Agriculture Foundation.

“We’ve been participating in the Journey 5km since it started, and we are very proud to support such an important cause,” says Jodi Starodub, Marketing Lead at ADAMA Canada. “This year the ADAMA team was lucky enough to take the walk together at our national sales meeting – we all agree mental health should be a priority and we hope this brings awareness.”

This year The Journey 5km event ran from April 21-27 with the goal of raising $20,000. Team ADAMA got things started early by participating in the Warm Up, which was open for teams to participate in between March 31 and April 18.

"It was great to do it as a big group this year as in the past we have done it individually, 5 km is a lot shorter when you have a group to visit with," says Starodub. “Part of what makes it so special is seeing how everyone supports each other to complete the 5k. That’s not something most of us do everyday.”

Since its launch in 2021, Journey 5km has raised over $70,000 in support of The Do More Agriculture Foundation, which champions the mental wellbeing of those in the Canadian ag industry through three pillars that drive their focus and efforts.

Awareness - The first step for all to understand what it means for them to be truly healthy.
Community - Where people can connect and also find resources that are relevant and accessible to them.
Resources - Bridging the gap of accessing those supports and services to farmers and their support network throughout Canada.
