Post Harvest Burndown
Don't make this year's weeds next year's problems!
There are many growers who still depend on glyphosate alone as a fall burndown option, but more are beginning to understand the benefits and value of adding a tank-mix partner. In years with poor conditions the default may be to resort to straight glyphosate thinking it is the most economically wise option but looking at the tank mixes below you will see it is not always the case.
There are many benefits for adding a secondary product to your glyphosate for fall burndown:
- Experts agree, winter annual weed control is best conducted in the fall and glyphosate alone doesn’t get everything.
- Improved control of glyphosate tolerant volunteer canola, not controlled by glyphosate alone.
- Elimination of weeds in the fall means fewer hosts for diseases (i.e.: clubroot host species like flixweed & stinkweed) and insects (i.e.: flea beetle host species like volunteer canola and wild mustard).
- Multiple modes of actions can offset herbicide resistance.
