2024 Happy New Year!

January 2024 Issue - ADAMA Delivers

Happy New Year from all of us at ADAMA!
2024 Happy New Year!

Thanks for your hard work and dedication that made 2023 a great year. We’re excited to kick off this year connecting with you, our friend and partner in the field.

Keeping on top of advances in crop protection and the evolving challenges in the field can be a daunting task. Through our monthly updates, we’re going to make it a little easier for you. We do our best to stay connected, and through our Area Business Managers (ABMs) and Technical Sales Agronomists (TSAs), we stay in touch with retailers, crop advisors and farmers, to be informed and up to date with what’s going on.

The topics and stories you’ll find in this newsletter are grounded in what we are hearing from you, including the challenges you face and practical insights you’re looking for.

Verticillium Stripe a Growing Concern

Verticillium stripe received a lot of attention in 2023 with the Canola Council of Canada taking a lead in developing and releasing resources to help farmers identify and manage this disease.

Our team met with Curtis Rempel, Vice President and Head of Crop Production and Innovation at Canola Council of Canada, to learn more about Verticillium Stripe and how it's impacting growers. Click here to read more.

Verticillium Stripe is on our radar, too. More information on this disease, including identification, symptoms and control tips, is available here. We will update the information as it becomes available.

Nominate Your Community Project to Make a Change

Stomping Grounds is a work of heart that gives back to the communities we are a part of, and it brings us great joy to be ALL IN on supporting so many initiatives across Canada that create positive change in local communities.

In 2023, we got to help over 15 communities bring their dreams to life, with a total of $120,000 in donations. And this year, we are once again looking for meaningful community projects to support. If you’ve got a project close to your heart that you think could make a difference in your community, we want to hear about it. Click here to nominate a project or to read about the other initiatives we’ve supported this year. Let’s keep making good things happen together.

Global Shipping Issues Return

Ocean container shipping was a key theme of the economic disruption experienced during the COVID pandemic and new challenges are once again elevating costs and educing reliability.

  • Security risks in the critical Red Sea/Suez Canal corridor
  • Capacity constraints in the Panama Canal
  • Higher fuel costs due to global regulations requiring the use of higher grade (lower emission) fuels

These difficulties highlight the need to have diversified manufacturing assets and good contingency plans in place. Click here to read more about these global shipping challenges.
