Our Products in Action

Every summer, our extensive network of trial sites come to life as growers, retailers and our teams hit the field to see results in real time and under local conditions. With locations across Canada, these site visits give every region a chance to see what’s new and what’s next. In July, our Manitoba team visited the Portage la Prairie site, capturing a glimpse of the kind of experience you can expect if you visit next season, from seeing product performance up close to connecting with our R&D team.

Knowing the Difference

Both desiccation and pre-harvest weed control can boost ROI by increasing the quality of the standing crop. Benefits include less bleaching, less weed seeds in a grain sample and more consistent moisture across the field.

While these two terms are often used interchangeably, they each have different goals that require different timing, products and approaches.

Learn more about the differences in our latest article.

Andrew Kaminsky - Area Business Manager

Growing up on the family farm means Andrew understands what goes into a successful season. Whether it’s stamping out a grasshopper infestation or helping drive the grain cart at harvest time, he leverages his deep-rooted passion for agriculture to support farmers across Eastern Manitoba.

Growing up, Andrew spent his early years working on a family farm, gaining hands-on experience in crop management and the daily challenges of farm life. This foundational background instilled in him a profound understanding of the farming industry’s intricacies, from planting seasons through in-crop pesticide applications to harvest yields. What Andrew enjoys most is witnessing farmers succeed with ADAMA’s products.

“Whether it’s positioning for higher yields, healthier crops or overcoming a pest outbreak, seeing growers be successful is number one for me,” he says. “Working at ADAMA, I see every day how our products, and the innovations we are working on, are doing more every year to help farmers better manage their acres.”

Outside of work, Andrew gives back to his community by coaching local youth hockey along with running a before-school breakfast skate club in his local town. His dedication to mentoring young athletes mirrors his professional commitment, fostering teamwork and resilience both on the ice and in the fields.

Load Up on Grain Bin Safety

With harvest around the corner, now’s the time to brush up on grain bin safety. Bins can be just as dangerous as any moving machine — and the risks are often underestimated. Here are a few key reminders for staying safe:

- Post warning signs to alert workers and family members to the risk of entrapment.
- Make sure children know the grain bin is off limits.
- Lock out power to all grain-handling equipment before entering.
- If there is a permanent ladder inside the bin, stay on the ladder above the level of compacted grain and wear a full body harness.
