Their Gain, Our Pain

Canola farmers find themselves again at risk in a conflict not of their choosing, this time as potential collateral damage in a trade conflict centered on EV batteries. With the majority of EV battery economic activity occurring in Ontario and Quebec, but the economic fallout of losing major agriculture export markets majorly affecting Western Canada, this is another example of the importance of aligning nationally to raise the collective voice of the industry. Technical Sales Agronomist – Melissa Ostash

With a natural curiosity for chemistry and biology, Melissa grew to become fascinated by plant physiology and soil science, making a career as an agronomist a natural choice. Her love for the land and dedication to understanding how to cultivate it better have been a driving force of her career and instrumental to her success at ADAMA.

She also believes there’s nothing better than doing things with her hands, whether that’s working in the field or whipping up something in the kitchen. A big fan of cooking and baking, she’s even joked that if Ag hadn’t worked out, she’d have her own little diner!  We are so proud to have Melissa on our team challenging ADAMA to continue to be better!

PRIORITY® HL: Get those fall weeds under control!

Did you know that dandelions will produce about 2,000 seeds per plant and a dense stand can add 240,000 seeds/acre annually if left unchecked!1  That's why fall weed control is so important when you have those hard to control weeds like dandelion, narrow leaved hawk's beard or cleavers for example.

We are excited to announce the registration of our new upgraded formulation, PRIORITY® HL. PRIORITY® has been a market-leading pre-seed and post-harvest glyphosate partner for years, with proven extended control of volunteer canola and winter annuals. Now, with this new and improved HL formulation, it just got better! The 'HL' in the product name stands for High Load, or more concentrated, meaning it takes less product to cover the same number of acres. In ADAMA’s continued quest to make products better, this is the first of many high load products.

“Creating more concentrated formulations to increase the convenience of the product and decrease the environmental impact of excess packaging is important, and we are continuing to look at many existing products to see if we can upgrade their formulations in this way,” says Ambrely Ralph, Herbicide Product Manager for ADAMA Canada. PRIORITY® HL underwent rigorous testing in-field, including performance with different sprayer setups, different water pH levels, and tank mixes, to ensure it is the right fit for Western Canada. “We don’t just high load products for the sake of it. We must ensure the field and user experience are not compromised,” said Ralph.

For more information on PRIORITY® HL, we encourage you to talk with your local ADAMA Area Business Manager and secure your fall order.
